Fashion Sakala told to leave Rangers, left out of squad v Hoffenheim
Fashion Sakala has been told by Rangers that he needs to find a new club after being left behind from the trip to face Hoffenheim, according to Fourth Official.
Writing on his personal Twitter account (29 July), the journalist is reporting that the Zambia international has been told that he has no future at Ibrox.
Interest remains from Saudi Arabia despite him turning down the move, but he will need to find a new club after being left out of the squad for the final pre-season clash of the summer against Bundesliga club Hoffenheim.
‘Exclusive: Fashion Sakala has been told that his time at Rangers is up and he needs to find a new club,” he wrote.
“Not been taken with the squad to Germany.
“I have been told that interest from Saudi Arabia is still there despite him turning down a move.”
Madness
This is the definition of a ruthless decision from Michael Beale when you consider just how good Sakala was in the second half of the season last year.
Sakala was the top scorer under Beale and was a regular starter either on the wing or as a central striker, and looked set to be sticking around when he turned down a move to the Middle East.

However after the arrivals of attackers Cyriel Dessers, Kieran Dowell, Sam Lammers, Abdallah Sima and Danilo this summer the manager has made the decision that the squad has moved past the need for him.
Sakala is someone who has divided opinion at Ibrox during his time here, with a lack of quality often letting him down in the final third, but he always gave his all.
After good performances he was expected to stick around, but Beale has made it clear now that he has a vision and it seems that Sakala is not part of that.
