Good timing

Rangers have timed the signature of Danilo well, with the striker able to get some minutes on the pitch and on the training ground with his new teammates ahead of a key period for the club.

Having already faced off against the likes of Newcastle United, Hamburg and Olympiacos, Michael Beale’s men have now travelled to Germany to take on Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.

It could be the perfect chance for Danilo to showcase his talents to his new manager, having already shone in pre-season for previous club Feyenoord.

He then has a few days to get to know his new surroundings better before the huge fixtures come thick and fast, with Rangers kicking off their new Scottish Premiership campaign against Kilmarnock next Saturday (5 August).

That is immediately followed by a Champions League third-round first-leg qualifier against either Genk or Servette on Wednesday (9 August) as the Gers get their European journey underway.

In other Rangers news, one highly-rated player is heading for an Ibrox loan exit amid interest from England.
