Official club partner rages at Rangers performance in 3-1 loss v Olympiacos

Rangers were blasted as “rotten” by an official club partner after their 3-1 defeat to Olympiacos at Ibrox in pre-season friendly.

Michael Beale’s new look Gers side were well-beaten on Wednesday (26 July) as they were picked apart by the Greek giants and slumped to a defeat just ten days before the opening game of the SPFL season.

And reacting to the performance on their official Twitter account (26 July), Heart and Hand podcast were furious with what they saw and didn’t hold back.

“Final score Rangers 1-3 Olympiacos,” they wrote (26 July).

“We were rotten, an error-strewn shapeless display. The left-hand side of the defence was a bombscare. Lots of work to do before Rugby Park.”

Considering there has been a lot of new faces at Ibrox this summer and there are still more to come in the coming days, plus people leaving, it’s no shock that the team didn’t look 100%.

Players still need to get to grips with each other and build relationships and partnerships, while Beale is still trying to put his own stamp on the team on the pitch too.

Rangers

But with just ten days to go before the opening game of the season, you’d be lying if you said you weren’t a little bit concerned about what you saw in the game.

There were errors galore, the team looked out of sync and there was very little quality on display throughout the 90 minutes with little standing out in a positive way.

Hopefully the team can come on leaps and bounds in the next week or so before the opening game of the season, but time is running out and Beale will have limited excuses if it doesn’t go well.
