Jose Cifuentes now due in Glasgow to seal brand new Rangers transfer
LAFC midfielder Jose Cifuentes is set to become Rangers’ eighth signing of the summer transfer window, as he is now due to arrive in Glasgow after a fee was agreed, according to Football Scotland.
The Scottish news publication shared the update on their website on 27 July, after it was previously reported that Cifuentes was waiting to receive a work visa before travelling to Scotland to join up with his new club’s pre-season preparations.
News of Cifuentes’ imminent arrival will be good news to Rangers fans who have been patiently waiting for this to go through, among several twists and turns during the process of agreeing a deal to bring the player from the MLS to Glasgow.

A matter of hours
If everything runs as expected (which can never be relied upon in football), Cifuentes should be announced as a new Rangers player, and Michael Beale’s eighth summer signing, in the coming days, if not hours.
Reports claim a deal was reached between Rangers and LAFC yesterday, with the Ecuadorian initially in line to join the club upon the expiry of his contract, but the Glasgow side brought the deal forward after agreeing a reasonable fee with the MLS side.
The club have been looking to strengthen their midfield this summer following the departure of Scott Arfield, while Glen Kamara is also expected to leave the club soon, by bringing in Kieran Dowell and now Cifuentes alongside him.

Should Cifuentes arrive in Glasgow in the coming hours, he will have two weeks to settle in and acclimatise to his new surroundings, as well as what his new boss wants him to do on the pitch, as the club continue their preparations ahead of the new season.
Rangers will be looking to compete with their Old Firm rivals for the SPFL title this season having failed to do so last time out, as well as trying to reach the Champions League group stages.
