Borna Barisic transfer verdict shared as Rangers star falls off cliff with another shocker
Rangers’ left-back Borna Barisic has been on the receiving end of a damning transfer verdict, as journalist Graeme MacPherson claims the time may be right for the club to let him go, via The Scotsman.
MacPherson claimed that Barisic’s performance against Olympiacos in the friendly on 26 July was enough for the club to make a decision to sell the full-back, with many fans having already giving up on the player that was once an Ibrox fan-favourite.
Previous claims [Daily Record, 14 July] have stated Rangers should be looking to sell Barisic this summer in an attempt to recoup a fee for him, as his contract runs out at the end of the season.

The Glasgow club do not want another repeat of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos after both key players left the club for free upon the expiry of their contracts earlier this summer.
The right time for both parties to move on
Barisic has been at Rangers since 2018, spending five years at Ibrox during which time he played a key role in lifting the SPFL title under Steven Gerrard, and also in the side that reached the Europa League final under the management of Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Following a performance against Olympiacos where it looked like the opposition had targeted his side as an area of weakness, it may finally be time for the two parties to call it a day and capitalise on any interest before he leaves for free.

The situation has familiar tones to that of Glen Kamara, who looks set to leave Ibrox in the coming weeks with interest from the English Championship and also abroad.
Kamara has been linked to Leeds United, with whom Rangers are seemingly in ‘advanced talks’ [Football Insider, 25 July], after he became surplus to requirements under Michael Beale, despite his starring role in Rangers’ 2021 league title win.
In other Rangers news, a big money offer from Saudi Arabia has arrived for Rangers forward.
