Rubber stamp claim emerges as Rangers close to signing Feyenoord striker Danilo

The deal for Rangers to sign Feyenoord striker Danilo was being rubber-stamped on Tuesday, 25 July, according to the Daily Record.

The Scottish newspaper report [26 July, Page 48] that the 24-year-old will be arriving in Glasgow for his medical before joining Gers.

A take-it-or-leave-it offer was made for the Brazilian striker and he’s now going to be among the top earners at the club.

He will follow Cyriel Dessers, Sam Lammers, Dujon Sterling, Kieran Dowell, Jack Butland, Leon Balogun and Abdallah Sima through the door.

Big move

The Danilo signing is undoubtedly the biggest in terms of finances for Rangers this summer and there’s plenty of excitement surrounding it.

It’s not like the club are signing a has been or someone still too young but are getting a striker seeming to be close to or at the top of his game.

With his signing, Rangers hope to have found their ideal replacement for Alfredo Morelos who departed on a free transfer.

Rangers

It seemed nigh on impossible to get a good deal to bring in someone who could replicate the Colombian’s goal-scoring prowess.

Given the outlay on Danilo, Michael Beale surely will be hoping for that and so will the fans who will have been excited by the club’s transfer activity this summer.

Beale too can have no complaints about not being backed by the board as they’ve given him the signings he’s wanted to make this Gers side a force once again.

In other Rangers news, the club are now battling an English side for the services of an Arsenal player set to leave this summer.
