Rangers transfer news as medical and visa process underway for Jose Cifuentes
Rangers transfer target Jose Cifuentes is currently undergoing a medical in the USA ahead of a proposed move from LAFC in the coming hours, according to journalist Andres Ponce.
Ponce, who has 110,000 followers on Twitter, shared on 26 July that Cifuentes is undergoing his medical in Los Angeles before the club engages in the process of getting the player a work visa which is not thought to be an issue.
This update suggests that Cifuentes could well be a Rangers player in the coming days, with a medical and final stages of the transfer process already underway, ahead of a move to Glasgow where he will link up with his new boss for the rest of the club’s pre-season preparations.
Finally getting it over the line
This is a deal that nobody expected to drag on as long as it has, with the negotiations seemingly lasting forever, so the club and fans alike will be relieved that the deal finally looks to be sorted.
Cifuentes has been Beale’s top midfield target this summer after already completing the signing of Kieran Dowell on a free transfer, following the exit of the experienced Scott Arfield who has returned to his home country of Canada upon the expiry of his Rangers contract.

The Ecuadorian is one of a number of transfers that are still expected through the doors at Ibrox this summer, including Feyenoord striker Danilo with whom the club finally agreed on a deal before discussing personal terms on 25 July.
Beale has looked to bring in most of his targets early in the summer, so that they can acclimatise to their new surroundings and new teammates, as well as getting used to his style of play ahead of the start of the season.
In other Rangers news, a deal has been rubber-stamped in the last few hours for new signing.
