Rangers transfer news as Danilo in blocks to take next flight to Glasgow

A Dutch source has revealed that Danilo is finally in the starting blocks to take the next flight to Glasgow, with his Rangers deal set to be finalised, according to the Daily Record [page 48].

It was reported in the newspaper’s print edition that a source had informed them: you can “safely say” Danilo will be joining Rangers soon after a deal was finally agreed between the two clubs, and that the Brazilian forward would be boarding a flight to Scotland soon.

Feyenoord had decided to accept a take-it-or-leave-it £6million bid from the Glasgow giants, prompting last season’s Eredivisie winners to move for Dutch international striker Calvin Stengs, with both deals set to go through soon.

Finally an end to the saga

Rangers’ efforts to sign Danilo from Feyenoord seem to have dragged on forever at this point, with a constant “will they, won’t they” cycle of bids and rejections leading to speculation that a deal for the striker would fall through.

Now, though, with news that a £6million bid has been accepted, Michael Beale has finally got his key striker target, as Danilo will join the club alongside other new recruits Sam Lammers, Abdallah Sima and Cyriel Dessers.

Beale has been keen to improve his squad this summer, especially in forward areas following the departures of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos. This has led to the number of incoming attacking players at Ibrox recently.

The English boss is keen to mould his side into one that better suits his style of play and one that he can trust to lead the club in their upcoming title battle, with Danilo reportedly his number one target this summer finally happening, things seem to be falling into place.

There is a concern, however, about the number of signings being made and seemingly a lack of outgoing movement so far in this transfer window.
