“Rangers have had a new bid worth around £6m accepted for Feyenoord striker Danilo,” according to Sky Sports. “The 24-year-old, who scored 12 goals last season, had been the subject of several offers from Rangers.

“The Scottish Premiership club now look set to seal an eighth summer signing, with an initial fee of £5.2m before potential add-ons. Personal terms are not expected to be an issue, with the Brazilian understood to be keen on a move to Ibrox.”

Rangers have been extremely busy in the summer transfer window, with Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling, Leon Balogun, Kieran Dowell, Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers all joining on permanent deals in recent weeks, with Abdallah Sima arriving on loan.

And Danilo looks certain to be summer signing number eight after this latest development, with Gers boss Michael Beale not messing around at all as he looks to get the club back to their very best.

The £5.2million figure will certainly turn a few heads in Scottish football, and will put immediate pressure on the striker to perform when the new season gets underway.

He could be joined at Ibrox very shortly by Los Angeles FC midfielder Jose Cifuentes, with a pre-contract agreement in place for the Ecuador international, as per Sky Sports.

Rangers needed new faces after the exits of Allan McGregor, Filip Helander, Scott Arfield, Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos after their contracts expired, but perhaps nobody expected the club to be making as many moves as they have done.

In other Rangers news, Barry Ferguson has shared what Michael Beale will have told every new Gers summer signing.
