Danilo set to jet into UK to sign five-year contract with Rangers, medical scheduled for £5m+ transfer

Danilo is set to fly to Glasgow to seal a £5m+ transfer to Rangers “in the coming days” after a deal was agreed with Feyenoord, according to AD.

Writing on their official website (25 July), the Dutch news outlet report that an agreement has been found between the clubs for more than €6m (£5.1m) including bonuses and the player is due for a medical this week.

The Brazilian is expected to put pen-to-paper on a five-year deal at Ibrox, bringing to an end Michael Beale’s hunt for another striker.

“Danilo is expected to fly to Glasgow in the coming days to undergo a medical examination and sign the five-year contract. With this, the attacker leaves De Kuip after just one year,” they wrote.

Excellent

Rangers have worked super hard in this transfer window to give Michael Beale everything he has wanted, and they haven’t really let him down yet.

Danilo and Jose Cifuentes are expected to be the eighth and ninth arrivals of the summer, and that will be all the priority positions sealed in the club’s rebuild for the new season.

The Braizlian hit 14 goals last season as he won the title with Feyenoord, so bringing him in for £5m to compete with fellow new signing Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers as well as Kemar Roofe looks like excellent business.

He wanted to come and was hungry, which will give Beale the best kind of selection headaches when deciding his team for the new season.

The manager has got what he wanted and got it before the season starts, so now he has to deliver on the pitch. Having a goalscorer the calibre of Danilo will only help that.

In other Rangers news, a report has shared when Jose Cifuentes could make his debut for the club.
