Rangers and Southampton in race to sign Gambian defender Dembo Saidykhan
Rangers, Southampton and Toulouse are keen on signing Steve Biko FC defender Dembo Saidykhan this summer, according to Foday Manneh.
The Ghanaian media outlet Alkamba Times journalist Foday Manneh claims that in a recent interview, the 19-year-old’s agent admitted that he is aware of the interest shown in the centre-back.
It’s understood that Steve Biko will be letting go of the Gambian this summer amid European interest.
Manneh wrote on Twitter, “Dembo Saidykhan (19) has received interest from FCNordsjaelland, RangersFC,
SouthamptonFC and ToulouseFC. His agent Sascha confirmed some of these interests and says the Steve Biko star will move this summer to a better environment.”
Worth looking into
There is interest in him from Southampton – a club known for their quality scouting of young players and then selling them for profits in the future.
Toulouse too, are an established club in France, so there surely is something about the Gambian that appeals to teams in Europe.

Standing at 6 ft 1 inches, he possesses the ideal frame for a centre-back and he could be a good option for Rangers in the future.
He can start off by being a backup and playing for the reserves as he gets acclimatised to the climate and playing style in the United Kingdom.
It remains to be seen if Gers can win the battle as there are other sides too keen on securing his services.
In other Rangers news, the club are now battling an English side for the services of an Arsenal player set to leave this summer.
