Rangers ‘almost certainly’ set for £39,000-a-week Danilo deal Monday after ‘take it or leave it’ bid tabled

Danilo’s departure from Feyenoord to Rangers “will almost certainly come this Monday” after a “take it or leave it” offer from Ibrox, according to De Telegraaf.

The Brazilian striker is “eager” to make the Ibrox switch, reportedly because he is set to more than double his wages up to €45,000-a-week [£39,000-a-week].

The Light Blues most recent offer of close to €7million [£6.05m] is classed as the “final” bid and when the Eredivisie hierarchy come together on Monday (24 July) to discuss it at the training ground it is expected to have a good chance of success.

Rangers

Marcel van der Kraan reports in De Telegraaf on Sunday night (23 July) that Feyenoord are likely to accept the offer as they have “interesting” players in other positions and now feel they can fill the gap Danilo would leave.

He adds: “It is clear that Danilo has also set his sights on a departure and is also counting on Feyenoord to let him go now.”

On the brink

It looks like Rangers are doing a very solid job in backing Michael Beale to get the targets he wants to launch a proper assault on the title next year.

How everything translates onto the pitch in the new season is still a key challenge for him to overcome, but in terms of getting his desired targets in he has been pretty successful so far.

The manager wasn’t satisfied with the Gers attack last term, as the SPFL season ended with the side having scored 21 goals fewer than champions Celtic.

Rangers

Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent leaving as their contracts expired seemed like a necessary step, but it was daunting all the same with nothing brought in financially, so it didn’t appear to be a foregone conclusion that they would be replaced adequately.

But if Danilo does arrive for the quoted fee that would be around £14m spent to sign the Brazilian, Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers on permanent deals, with Abdallah Sima picked up on loan.

On paper that is a very encouraging new line up, so if all adapt to Scottish football quickly the Gers should hit the ground running.

In other Rangers news, Beale is set to “finally” seal yet another incoming transfer imminently on top of the Feyenoord forward.
