Rangers transfer news as Auston Trusty talks stall with Arsenal
Talks over a transfer for Auston Trusty from Arsenal to Rangers have stalled, according to The Scottish Mail on Sunday.
The newspaper reported in its print version on Sunday (23 July) that Gers boss Michael Beale has “long craved” the left-sided central defender.
Trusty, who joined Arsenal from Colorado Rapids last year, spent last season on loan in the English Championship with Birmingham City.

“Despite bringing in Leon Balogun on a free, the manager could also add the left-sided centre-back he has long craved,” according to The Scottish Mail on Sunday (pg 95, 23 July).
“Arsenal’s Auston Trusty remains his preferred option but talks over that transfer have stalled.”

Another new signing eyed
Beale has been extremely busy this summer, with the Gers boss bringing seven new players to Ibrox so far; Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling, Kieran Dowell, Sam Lammers, Abdallah Sima, Cyriel Dessers and Balogun.
It seems that attacking figures has been the priority, with that area set to get even stronger if the club can land a deal for Feyenoord striker Danilo.
Such additions were definitely needed as the Gers lost both Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos upon the expiry of their contracts, with the attacking duo joined by Allan McGregor, Filip Helander and Scott Arfield in that manner.
The midfield may also be bolstered with the potential arrival of Los Angeles FC midfielder Jose Cifuentes, but it seems Beale still has his heart set on signing another new defender as well.
The talk around Arsenal’s Trusty has gone quiet in recent times, but there remains plenty of time for Rangers to get a deal over the line.
