Rangers close in on Danilo transfer with fourth big-money bid amid ‘serious negotiations’ update
Danilo is “very close” to his desired move to Rangers after the club tabled a fourth bid which is near to Feyenoord’s asking price, according to AD.
The Gers have been increasing their offers for the Brazilian striker who Michael Beale is set on trying to add to his new-look Ibrox attack, and are now “approaching the ultimate bid for Danilo’s asking price”.
That fee is thought to be at least £6million, with the Daily Record reporting it was as high as £6.5m on 13 July, and the latest offer has reportedly now got “serious negotiations” under way.

The 24-year-old has made clear that he wants to join Rangers, and it appears that outcome is now within touching distance after the club put up big money to bring him in.
On the brink
In contrast to the push for Jose Cifuentes the pursuit of Danilo appears to be moving very quickly, and the money on offer is substantial.
Reports in Scotland have put the Gers’ bid as high as £5.2m so far [Daily Record, 20 July], so if they have upped it again since then it is clear how much the manager wants him.
It would probably be an unexpected bonus to sign a fourth attacker this summer, with £8million already spent on Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers combined, and Abdallah Sima added on a loan deal, but it is now on the cards.

Beale came into the summer window with questions around how far the transfer budget could stretch, but with seven signings already made and more still on the agenda the answers to those questions appear to have been very positive.
The cash brought in from Antonio Colak’s sale to Parma is sure to have helped in the pursuit of a replacement, with the Croatian not thought to suit the manager’s style but Danilo very much liked.
Beale and Danilo certainly seem to be convinced that this move is the right one, so if the Light Blues can now convince Feyenoord to agree from a financial point of view the goalscorer should be on his way.
In other Rangers news, Keith Jackson reports that the club is now set to “finally” close yet another deal as well as the Danilo push.
