Kenny Miller moots European big five league transfer for ‘sensational’ Rangers ace Nico Raskin
BBC pundit Kenny Miller has mooted a transfer to one of Europe’s big five leagues for Rangers midfielder Nico Raskin.
The 22-year-old Belgian joined the Ibrox club from Standard Liege in January, and has made 16 appearances for the side so far.
And former Gers striker Miller is now predicting big things for the young midfielder following his “sensational” display in the club’s 2-1 friendly loss to Newcastle United on Tuesday (18 July).

“It’s still early days for Nico Raskin,” Miller wrote for the Daily Record. “And when it comes to winning trophies at Rangers – he’s still got it all to prove. But I reckon this kid is the real deal.
“I saw enough from the young Belgian last season when he arrived from Standard Liege to impress me. And his little cameo in Tuesday’s friendly match against Newcastle only confirmed what I’ve always thought. When he came on against Newcastle, he was sensational. The game went up a level.
“Supporters won’t want to hear this but they might need to enjoy him while they can. Because in a few years, a club from one of Europe’s big five leagues might come and take him.”

Raskin hasn’t been at Ibrox for very long, but the midfielder has settled into life in Scotland well, impressing in his early days under Beale.
And that will have come as a surprise to many, who might have thought that the youngster would be nothing but trouble after refusing to sign a new deal at Standard Liege before his switch to Ibrox.
The 22-year-old has put that moment behind him, and is now one of the first names on Beale’s teamsheet, and he will be for quite some time.
Rangers were desperate for such a player before he arrived, and fans may just have to appreciate him while he is among their ranks.
But nobody will be thinking about an Ibrox exit for the Belgian anytime soon, with a huge season in all competitions coming up for the player and his teammates, and of course Gers boss Beale as the club look to close the gap on Celtic.
In other Rangers news, Barry Ferguson has shared what Michael Beale will have told every new Gers summer signing.
