Danilo transfer on verge of collapse overnight as new Rangers twist emerges
Rangers’ deal for Feyenoord striker Danilo appears to be on the verge of collapse after an overnight twist was reported by the Daily Record.
The report from 21 July shared that the Dutch side rejected the most recent Rangers bid of £5.2million with potential add-ons, and have become frustrated with what they consider to be a number of lowball approaches from the Glasgow side.
Rangers on the other hand believe they are offering money representative of the player’s market value, but relationships between the clubs are turning cold. It is shared that Feyenoord will not drop below their original price tag of £6million.

This news comes at the same time as a separate story in The Athletic that claimed a deal for the striker was close to being agreed, with Rangers’ new bid significantly closer to the Dutch Champions’ asking price.
Pay the money or move on
These negotiations have taken longer than many would have thought and have dragged on now for several weeks. Feyenoord’s demands have been clear throughout, and if Rangers aren’t going to meet those demands, then they need to move on to other targets.
Michael Beale is clearly a huge fan of Danilo and he is seen as the final piece of the puzzle for the Scottish club’s attack, which is why the club have held such a strong interest in the striker.

With Beale stating: “he’s obviously a good player” and remaining coy about any developments, it is clear that the club wish to keep the latter stages of these negotiations close to its chest.
Danilo would be an ideal signing, so Rangers should just meet the asking price, even in a deal that includes add-ons and be done with it. Negotiations are fine, but when it becomes clear that the selling club won’t budge, it feels frustrating to keep bidding below.
In other Rangers news, one player looks set to join the club very soon after Beale’s comments.
