Rangers transfer news: Fabrizio Romano shares ‘very concrete’ update on Danilo signing

Fabrizio Romano has provided a highly encouraging transfer update on Rangers’ pursuit of Danilo from Feyenoord, saying it is a “very concrete”.

Despite already bringing in Sam Lammers, Abdallah Sima and Cyriel Dessers to compensate for the departure of Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent at the expiry of their contracts, Michael Beale has now sold Antonio Colak to Parma for £2.5million to make a space for for Brazilian Danilo, 24, from the Eredivisie.

The Dutch club are thought to want at least £6m for the scorer of 14 goals in all competitions last term, but amid reports that the Light Blues have gone as far as £5.2m plus add-ons Romano has suggested the process is moving very positively.

The Italian journalist told GIVEMESPORT (20 July): “Danilo is very concrete. The conversations are going well. Let’s wait for the final stages of the discussion, but it’s going very well.”

Banker?

When links to Danilo first emerged towards the end of June they seemed like somewhat of a long shot but it is starting to look like just a matter of time before he joins Beale’s overhaul.

The former Ajax and Twente man himself seems set on making an Ibrox switch so if discussions between the clubs continue on the same path and Arnie Slot can be satisfied of cover coming in it should get done.

Romano isn’t often wrong so it looks like the Rangers strike force could look very different for the new campaign, and assuming they fit into Beale’s system as he clearly believes it should be a good-looking group.

Whether it would mean that Fashion Sakala is more likely to be sold remains to be seen, after a source close to the Zambian responded to Saudi links.

Scott Wright is already on the way out so if every attacking option already at the club is joined by Danilo it will raise hopes for a genuine title race.

And should Kemar Roofe find some fitness Beale would suddenly be looking at a well-stocked forward department after feeling it was a weakness last season.

In other Rangers news, Beale is set to “finally” wrap up yet another deal as well according to Keith Jackson as the business keeps on moving.
