Michael Beale confirms Rangers ‘have an agreement’ with Jose Cifuentes for transfer

Michael Beale has confirmed that Rangers have a pre-contract agreement in place with Jose Cifuentes that they want to bring forward.

The Gers have been linked with a move for the Ecuador international all summer, with talks ongoing between the clubs about a deal to bring him to Ibrox this summer.

But the boss has now confirmed to Sky Sports News (21 July) that there is an agreement in place for the midfielder to join the club at the end of his contract at the end of the year, but Rangers are working to bring him in before that and talks continue with LA FC.

“It is, it is getting closer,” he said. “Again logistics of that one, and work permits and everything that goes on in between it. The clubs are still talking.

“He’s out of contract at the end of the year and we have an agreement for that, we would like to bring it to close early so he can join in this window, so those discussions are ongoing.”

Brilliant

Just like Nicolas Raskin before him, Cifuentes has made it clear that a move to Rangers is his priority and he wants to come to Ibrox.

Beale has also made it clear that the club are working hard behind the scenes to get it done, and even mentioned things like work permits to show that a deal is close.

Rangers

Cifuentes has been playing regularly this summer both for his national team and club team, but with only a few weeks to go before the season starts in Scotland surely the clubs are nearing a deal.

There is a pause in the MLS season right now which would be the perfect time for the club to strike a deal and get him in, and now Beale is applying public pressure by admitting that talks are happening and an agreement with the player is in place.

It seems inevitable that Cifuentes will join the club sooner rather than later, and that can only be a brilliant thing for the fans.
