Rangers bid to sign Danilo takes new twist amid Feyenoord snub
Rangers’ attempt to bring Brazilian forward Danilo to Ibrox from Feyenoord is facing a further delay as the Dutch side have missed out on replacement target Emanuel Emegha, according to the Daily Record.
The Scottish newspaper reported via their print edition on Thursday (20 July, back page and page 51) that Michael Beale has been trying to bring the striker to Rangers for the last week, but the Dutch side’s manager, Arne Slot, has been unwilling to sanction his sale until a replacement is brought to the Feyenoord Stadium.
The report from the Scottish newspaper suggests that the Eredivisie Champions have had to go back to their list of targets after Sturm Graz striker Emegha turned down the opportunity to join Slot’s ranks.

Discussing the added delay to this transfer saga, Mark Pirie writes: “Rangers will be forced to wait even longer to land Danilo after Feyenoord missed out on a successor for the Brazilian.
“The Dutch side’s boss Arne Slot has demanded the club sign a replacement before Danilo is allowed to leave and it is believed one of their top targets, Sturm Graz striker Emegha has snubbed a move to the Netherlands. It means Beale will have to be patient in his bid to land another striker.”
Worth the wait?
Beale’s pursuit of Danilo has long been reported and it is glaringly obvious that the Rangers boss is desperate to secure the services of the Brazilian striker this summer as he aims to refresh his frontline.
Danilo seems like the perfect fit, the previously reported fee within the region of £6million seems excellent value for a 24-year-old forward who managed to score 10 league goals from only 14 starts in the Eredivise last campaign.

For Rangers to be able to catch Celtic this season, more goals are an absolute must and while the Gers have already been busy adding to their forward line so far this transfer window, neither Sam Lammers nor Cyriel Dessers were exactly prolific last season.
As long as Beale is comfortable waiting for Slot to find his ideal replacement and therefore misses out on some extra time to mould Danilo into the striker he wants during pre-season, another minor delay shouldn’t cause too much more than some added frustration to proceedings. As long as Feyenoord stand by their word once a replacement is acquired.
In other Rangers news, Tom Lawrence has been seen in training and has the potential to be like a new signing this season
