Michael Beale desperate to seal Danilo signing for Rangers as £5m+ transfer news drops

Rangers have tabled a brand new bid to sign Feyenoord striker Danilo with Michael Beale now clearly desperate to seal his eighth signing of the summer.

According to AD Sport (20 July), the Gers have tabled a £5.2m bid for the Brazilian this summer after seeing two approaches rejected by the Dutch champions.

Writing on their official website, the Dutch news outlet report that Rangers have made a third offer for the Brazilian striker worth up to £5.2m including bonuses.

Feyenoord are reportedly considering whether or not to accept the offer having previously rejected two bids earlier this summer.

Football Scotland reported on 11 June that Michael Beale is “seriously interested” in adding the former Ajax man to his ranks with Rangers readying a fresh bid, but the Dutch giants are looking for a fee almost double what the Gers offered previously which was around £4m, according to the Daily Record (13 July).

Rangers are quite clearly on the hunt for another striker after letting Alfredo Morelos and Antonio Colak leave the club this summer, and after completing deals for Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers, it is clear that Beale sees Danilo as his marquee acquisition.

It’s clear the Gers have been left frustrated in their attempts to land the Brazilian forward this summer, but this latest £5.2m bid which falls short of Feyenoord’s lofty valuation clearly shows that Beale is desperate for Danilo’s signature and given his qualities, he seems the perfect acquisition to replace Morelos and Colak.

Danilo impressed for the Dutch side last season scoring ten league goals and his qualities in the attacking sense are quite clear, recording three assists, averaging 0.2 assists per 90 in the past year, placing him in the 87th percentile, when compared to his positional peers in Europe’s top-eight leagues.

The Brazilian is also tremendously creative and efficient out of possession, as evidenced by his ranking in the top 18% of forwards across the continent for shot-creating actions per 90, and ranking in the 97th percentile for interceptions highlighting that he isn’t only influential when scoring and creating but also defending from the front – characteristics Beale absolutely adores from his front men.

Rangers

Rangers know they need to add goals to the side, and the likelihood is that bit-part Kemar Roofe could leave the club if an acceptable offer arrives before the window closes.

Danilo has his heart set on a move to Rangers this summer according to the Daily Record (13 July) and that has given Rangers all the encouragement they need to secure a swift deal but Feyenoord certainly aren’t budging and are seemingly after a replacement if they are to allow Danilo to leave.

Feyenoord will surely be seriously tempted to accept this bid, and should the Dutch champions reject this new bid it is unlikely Beale and Rangers would walk away given their never-say-die pursuit of a player who looks the perfect component to boost their attack next season.

Good things come to those who push and wait.
