Rangers set to finalise small details to complete Jose Cifuentes signing in next 24 hours after fee agreed

Rangers are set to complete a deal to sign midfielder Jose Cifuentes in the next 24 hours, according to Radio Diblu.

The Ecuadorian broadcaster tweeted on 18 July that the Gers have reached an agreement with Los Angeles FC to bring the 24-year-old to Ibrox.

It said that only “small details remain for the operation to be completed” and that the Ecuadorian international will become a Rangers player by the end of play on Wednesday (19 July).

Formality

It looks like being pretty much a formality now that Cifuentes will be a Rangers player within the next 24 hours following the latest update from Radio Diblu.

This is a signing that is sure to excite Gers fans, as the box-to-box midfielder comes with a big reputation in the US following his time at LA FC.

Since arriving at the club for a reported £2.3million fee in 2020, the Ecuadorian has really caught the eye in his 121 appearances, where he scored 15 goals and registered 20 assists.

He played a major part in helping the LA club lift the MLS title in 2022, having bagged seven goals and laying on eight assists, with his performances leading to the Gers spending the majority of the transfer window so far trying to secure his services.

It looks like they’ve now finally got their man and Michael Beale can look forward to working with him as he tries to revamp his squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.
