Rangers set for seven-figure windfall as Fulham make £15m bid for Calvin Bassey – Sky Sports
Rangers are in line for a seven-figure windfall after Premier League club Fulham made a £15m bid for Calvin Bassey, according to Sky Sports.
Bassey left Ibrox for Amsterdam last year in a deal worth up to £22.7m, but the club also put a 10% sell-on clause in the deal, entitling them to 10% of any future fee he was sold for.
And according to Sky Sports (19 July) Fulham have tabled a bid for the Nigerian international defender which would see Rangers pocket £1.5m from the deal.

Excellent
Many people questioned the sale of Bassey last year as he was finally coming into his own and developing well at the club.
But the money on offer for him was far too good to refuse at the time, and the sell-on clause certainly made things a little bit better too.
Bassey struggled in Holland, being shifted from centre-back to left-back and was criticised heavily in the media for his performances before losing his place in the team.

He now looks set to return to England, and that means Michael Beale and Rangers can cash in a little bit more money from his sale as they won’t be getting the full fee with the add-ons unlikely to be met.
It’s good for Rangers to be getting this unexpected money in this summer as they continue to look to strengthen the squad at Ibrox, and shows that the deal last year was indeed good business.
In other Rangers news, Beale has confirmed a “twist” in Rangers’ transfer business to come.
