Rangers agree Scott Wright fee as Pendikspor transfer on verge

Rangers have agreed a deal to sell attacker Scott Wright to Turkish Super Lig side Pendikspor, according to The Scottish Sun.

The newspaper reported on 17 July that the Turkish outfit, who secured promotion to the top flight last season, have agreed a £500,000 fee for the 25-year-old.

Wright was deemed surplus to requirements at Ibrox after slipping down the pecking order following the arrival of Michael Beale and will jet out in the next 24 hours to discuss the move.

Inevitable

It seemed pretty inevitable that Wright would leave Rangers this summer after being largely a fringe player since Beale came to the club in November.

The forward featured 21 times in all competitions last season, having failed to score a single goal and creating just one assist in his 21 appearances. He started eight games throughout the campaign.

His overall time with the Gers could be looked upon as a bit of a disappointment, given that he arrived at Ibrox following a good spell with Aberdeen and he only managed to net eight goals in 84 matches.

The move will allow him to try and kickstart his career in Turkey and Rangers will be pleased to have received money for him, even if it is a relatively modest fee.

His departure also frees up some money in terms of wages, as Beale looks to revamp his squad to put them in a better position to challenge for the league title once again.
