Ianis Hagi sends four-word message to Antonio Colak after Rangers exit

Rangers ace Ianis Hagi has sent a four-word message to Antonio Colak after the latter’s departure from Ibrox was confirmed.

As confirmed by the official Rangers website (15 July), the striker has departed for Italian club Parma for an undisclosed fee.

Colak scored 18 goals from his 39 appearances in all competitions last season, having joined in the summer from PAOK.

“Dear Rangers Family, I want to thank everyone at Rangers for the amazing support you gave me in my time at Rangers,” Colak wrote on Instagram.

“Getting the club back to the Champions League where the club belongs and becoming the best goal scorer of the club in my first year made me really proud.

“I want to wish Rangers nothing but the best for the upcoming future and you will always have a big supporter with me. Once a Ger always a Ger!”

Commenting on the post, Colak’s former Gers teammate Hagi wrote: “Best of luck Toni.”

One to regret?

It’s clear to see Colak was well-liked by most people at Ibrox, with the striker receiving plenty of well-wishes following his exit from the Scottish club.

But the Croatian was, perhaps, disliked in the blue half of Glasgow by the one person that mattered; Rangers boss Michael Beale.

The manager clearly doesn’t see the striker as part of the first-team picture next season, despite Colak’s superb goal record for the Light Blues.

Beale obviously has a plan in mind, having brought fellow forwards Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers to Ibrox, with Abdallah Sima arriving on loan.

Even if Colak didn’t get many minutes under Beale, the three new arrivals still have big boots to fill as they look to hit the ground running in their debut season at the club, just like the outgoing Croatian did.

Many Gers supporters may be already thinking it, but Beale cannot afford to regret his decision to let the striker move on.

In other Rangers news, Barry Ferguson has predicted one player to be unhappy with a new signing at Ibrox.
