Liverpool legend Graeme Souness makes ultimate decision on sentimental return to Rangers
TV pundit and former Liverpool manager Graeme Souness has pulled the plug on a “sentimental” return to Rangers, according to the Sun.
The British tabloid carried an article on its website [15 July] that claims the former Gers player and manager was asked to take on an ambassadorial role with talks ongoing for weeks.
However, he felt that he would be of no help to his former club and thus decided to snub a return to Ibrox.

Strange one
There have been talks going on for weeks so clearly Souness felt that there was something he could’ve offered to Rangers.
He’s among the well-known TV figures and also has a long-standing popularity in the game – having amassed a wealth of goodwill throughout his career in the game.
He certainly would’ve added value to the club in some way, shape or form and perhaps could’ve even featured as the occasional guest on Rangers TV.

This certainly would’ve boosted the number of subscribers and his visits to Ibrox would’ve been pretty special as well.
However, that does not seem to be happening and probably something went wrong in the talks recently which led to him making this decision.
Having now left Sky Sports, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the former Rangers boss.
In other Rangers news, the club are now battling an English side for the services of an Arsenal defender set to leave this summer.
