Rangers raise funds to sign Danilo in yet another new signing as Antonio Colak exit news emerges

Rangers manager Michael Beale is raising funds to sign Feyenoord ace Danilo by letting striker Antonio Colak go, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper noted that the Croatian striker is “next to go” following the exits of Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Scott Arfield, Allan McGregor and Filip Helander upon the expiry of their contracts.

Colak, despite scoring 18 goals in all competitions last season, is being lined up for a £2.5million move to Serie B club Parma, the publication added.

“Beale – who has already made seven signings this summer – began clearing space in his bloated squad at the end of last season when he allowed out-of-contract stars Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Scott Arfield, Allan McGregor and Filip Helander to leave,” according to the Daily Record.

“But with 32 first-team players still on the books, the Londoner knows he needs to trim it back further and raise funds if he wants to push through with a move for Feyenoord ace Danilo.

“And Colak – who joined Gers last summer in a £1.8million move from Greek side PAOK – is next to go.”

Ruthless

Gers boss Beale really is being ruthless in the summer transfer window as he aims to build the best squad possible ahead of the new campaign.

Unfortunately for many players, it means being shown the exit door, with Colak next in line despite his superb season last time out.

For whatever reason, Beale is seemingly unconvinced that the Croatian is the right man to lead the line next season, with the manager bringing in the likes of Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers to fulfil that role.

The player himself and indeed fans may be confused as to why he won’t be given a chance up top next time out, but all Beale cares about at this moment in time is freeing up space and funds to allow his new faces to settle in.

And he will be delighted with the added bonus of making a profit on the £1.8million deal to bring Colak to Ibrox last summer.

In other Rangers news, one new signing has sent a “really important” warning to Gers captain James Tavernier.
