Rangers could reinvest as Robby McCrorie transfer news drops on Sky Sports
Rangers are expected to hold out for a strong fee to sell Robby McCrorie this summer, with the young goalkeeper set to depart Ibrox after talks with Michael Beale, according to Sky Sports News.
The 25-year-old wants to be a first-choice keeper next season but would likely find himself behind new summer signing Jack Butland in the pecking order, with veteran Jon McLaughlin also providing competition.
The Herald journalist Chris Jack reported on (13 July) that the Gers will look to sell him for a fee of around £500,000 and according to Sky Sports (13 July), Rangers want a “strong fee” and could reinvest that for a new transfer this summer.

Every little helps
It feels harsh on McCrorie after his strong performances at the end of last season, but this is just the brutal reality of football with the decision now made on his Ibrox future.
At 25 years old, the goalkeeper deserves to be plying his trade on a regular basis and enduring another campaign on the bench at Ibrox would not have done his development any favours.

Beale’s decision may seem harsh but it’s clear the Rangers boss is thinking about the goalkeeper’s future in mind, and it is certainly best for all parties involved if they parted ways.
£500k for his services may seem too small to many Rangers fans, but to the club hierarchy, every little helps especially with the kind of deals the club is going for this summer, with Jose Cifuentes, Danilo and Jonathan Panzo all top targets this summer.
The Gers have already completed seven deals this summer, and this development certainly shows that Beale is desperate for more as he looks to fully reinvent his squad ahead of a major assault on Celtic’s Scottish Premiership title defence.
In other Rangers news, a wildcard transfer could now appear at Ibrox this summer.
