Rangers transfer news as Antonio Colak set to form part of Ibrox exodus, Werder Bremen lead race for signature

Rangers striker Antonio Colak is set to form apart of the Ibrox exodus this summer, with Michael Beale told by chiefs to offload at least three big names to help fund the rest of his summer rebuild, according to the Scottish Sun.

The 29-year-old, only moved to Ibrox last summer in a £2.5million deal from PAOK Salonika, scoring 18 goals from his 39 games in all competitions last season before injuries in the second half of the campaign hampered his progress.

And according to the Scottish Sun (9 July), Beale is set to sacrifice the hitman as he continues his squad revamp and German outfit Werder Bremen reportedly lead the race for his signature.

It is believed that Rangers would be willing to listen to offers for around £2m for his services this summer as he doesn’t fit in Beale’s tactical plans for the new season.

Pack his bags

With Rangers already completing deals for Abdallah Sima, Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers, Colak’s short stint at Ibrox now certainly looks to be coming to an abrupt end.

The senior striker can certainly count himself unlucky to be forming a key part of Beale’s exodus this summer considering his tremendous goal-scoring feats last season.

Beale’s thoughts of the 29-year-old are understandable and certainly aren’t disrespectful, and he is certainly well within his rights doesn’t to see him as the sort of player that he is looking for in the way he wants Rangers to play.

When a club changes managers in a short space of time, with Giovanni van Bronckhorst barely lasting a year, signings under the short-lived boss are always at risk, and that looks to be the case with Colak.

The Croatian striker now looks to be packing his Ibrox bags before long, but a move to Germany, the country of his birth seems the ideal next step for his career though and he has already proven he can score goals when given the chance.

That doesn’t seem to be at Ibrox now and it’s best for all parties if an amicable exit is sorted out soon enough.
