Rangers target Danilo drops hint that a move to Ibrox may not happen this summer
Rangers target and current Feyenoord striker Danilo has dropped a hint that a move to Ibrox may not happen this summer during a post-match interview, via the Daily Record.
Danilo was all smiles after the game, a friendly against Zwolle which saw the hosts win 3-1 with Danilo on the scoresheet and discussed how the early pre-season fixture was “just the beginning” for a Feyenoord side who are looking to build on their Eredivisie success.
The Rangers-linked striker revealed how he had enjoyed playing with Javairo Dilrosun and Igor Paixao, and spoke about the connection the three have going forward. His glowing report of his current club could be a hint that a move to Ibrox isn’t as close as it may have seemed.

Speaking after the pre-season fixture and reported via the Daily Record, Danilo said: “We have a good team and it’s nice to play with (Javairo) Dilrosun and (Igor) Paixao. It’s easy, we already had a good connection in the forward area. It’s just the beginning and we look forward to what this season will bring.”
Beale may be looking at other options
This comes after it was reported that the striker would be open to a move to Glasgow this summer, as the Daily Record revealed the striker was “desperate” for the transfer to Rangers.
This could now have changed, with the striker sounding very happy with his current club, although the allure of playing time at Ibrox may tempt him away from his status as the second-choice forward option with the Eredivisie champions.

Rangers have already completed three deals for strikers this summer, bringing in Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers on permanent deals from Serie A sides Atalanta and Cremonese respectively, while Abdallah Sima arrived on a loan deal from Brighton.
Danilo’s apparent happiness at his current club could suggest Rangers will move on to other transfer targets as a priority, with Jose Cifuentes of LAFC heavily linked to a move to Ibrox, while the club also explore deals for Bobby Thomas [Alan Nixon, 9 July] and Jonathan Panzo [Football Scotland, 7 July].
The door may have shut on this one though.
