Rangers thrash out fee to sign Jose Cifuentes with LAFC transfer to be done within days
Los Angeles FC midfielder Jose Cifuentes is expected to complete his move to Scottish giants Rangers in the next week, according to the Sunday Mail.
Reportedly (9 July, page 62), the clubs have thrashed out a deal which will see the Ecuadorian move to Ibrox for a fee of around £1.2million.
Cifuentes is said to be keen on the move to Michael Beale’s side [The Sun], with the 24-year-old just waiting for a work permit before his permanent move to Scotland [Daily Record].

Long admired, long-awaited
Beale has reportedly been an admirer of the Ecuadorian for some time [The Sun] and will be excited about his impending switch to the Gers.
His top midfielder target comes to Ibrox as the latest addition to Rangers following a very busy window that has seen the likes of Sam Lammers, Abdallah Sima and Cyriel Dessers come through the door.
Now, the long-awaited move looks close to completion and will give Rangers fans a lot of reasons to be excited, and for a tiny fee of £1.2million he could be the bargain of the summer in the SPL.
Cifuentes has put up some impressive stats that make it clear why Beale wants him. He is a quality progressor of play in the MLS, making 7.73 progressive passes (91st percentile) and 2.46 progressive carries (90th percentile) per 90 [FBRef].
He could be a really exciting addition to Beale’s growing squad and looks to be a real upgrade in the central midfield position and improve a weak spot for the Gers.
His signing may spell danger for former Sheffield United midfielder John Lundstram who currently occupies this spot for Rangers, but fans will be happy to have a bot more quality in depth as Rangers prepare to topple Celtic for the title next season.

For now, fans will have to wait a little longer for the deal to be confirmed, but everything looks set. There is plenty to be excited about in Glasgow.
