Rangers must be careful to avoid Chelsea fate after Ibrox transfer news
A massive summer shake-up was expected at Rangers this summer, with many incomings and outgoings having taken place in the early stages of the transfer window.
Whether or not fans expected Michael Beale to mix things up so quickly is another issue entirely, but supporters will be very pleased with how things have gone so far.
Striker Cyriel Dessers became the club’s sixth summer signing as he joined from Serie A club Cremonese on Thursday (6 July), as confirmed by the official Rangers website.

He follows Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling, Kieran Dowell, Sam Lammers and Abdallah Sima in the door at Ibrox, the latter of which has joined on loan.
The new arrivals have certainly pleased Gers legend Kenny Miller, with the BBC pundit sharing his delight at Beale’s dealings so far.
“There’s six in the door already but I wouldn’t be surprised if the final tally gets to ten – or maybe even more,” Miller wrote for the Daily Record.

While it is good news for the Ibrox side, some caution may be creeping into the most sceptical of fans, who could point to the mass influx of players at Premier League giants Chelsea in recent times, and the club’s subsequent downfall.
The West London outfit spent £585.5 million on 16 new players across the summer transfer window 2022 and the January transfer window 2023, as per the Metro (2 May).
Their misfortunes have been well-documented, with the Blues now forced to sell a large chunk of their squad this summer in order to free up both funds and space in their squad.

The sums of money are, of course, minuscule at Ibrox in comparison, while plenty of players have already left, with both of those issues working in Beale’s favour.
But keeping everyone happy with regular playing time isn’t easy, with another potential problem arising in a potential lack of harmony among the squad.
In other Rangers news, Barry Ferguson is now worried about the potential sale of one Gers star amid the latest Ibrox transfer news.
