Michael Beale thrilled with Rangers transfer after ‘a lot of talk’ – BBC pundit

Rangers manager Michael Beale will be “absolutely delighted” at getting the deal to sign Cyriel Dessers from Cremonese over the line, according to Kenny Miller.

The Scottish club completed a four-year deal for the striker on Thursday (6 July), as confirmed by the official Rangers website.

But Gers legend Miller wasn’t always convinced that his former club would complete the signing following “a lot of talk” about the move over the last few weeks.

“There was a lot of talk about Cyriel Dessers in the last few weeks and there were times it looked like Cremonese might’ve priced him out of the market,” Miller wrote for the Daily Record.

“But Rangers managed to get the deal over the line at last and I’m sure Beale is absolutely delighted.”

Exciting signing

Rangers are making serious moves in the summer transfer window, with the Ibrox outfit now completing their sixth signing in Dessers.

And that number looks certain to increase, with a handful of other new faces expected to arrive in the near future.

A massive summer shake-up was always expected, but perhaps Gers fans weren’t expecting Beale to make so many moves this early in the market, with the current transfer window still in its infancy.

The tactic certainly makes sense, however, with Rangers kicking off their European campaign shortly, and Beale will want to have his new players mingling with the current group in order to get to know each other properly.

Dessers is the latest exciting signing from the club, with the centre-forward arriving with high expectations after scoring 10 goals in all competitions last season.

Attacking firepower was needed at Ibrox, and fans will be desperate to see the 28-year-old produce the goods next season.

In other Rangers news, Barry Ferguson is now worried about the potential sale of one Gers star amid the latest Ibrox transfer news.
