Rangers in week-long talks with LAFC, as £1.2m price tag named for Jose Cifuentes
Rangers bosses have spent the week locked in talks with LAFC to thrash out a deal for Jose Cifuentes, as the American club have placed a £1.2million price tag on their player, according to The Sun.
LAFC are reported to have demanded the seven-figure fee, which shouldn’t be prohibitive for Rangers as Michael Beale is prepared to splash the cash in his pursuit of the player who he’s long admired.
The Sun also report that Cifuentes has made it clear he wants to join Beale’s Ibrox revolution, although there is still work to be done before the clubs reach an agreement over his transfer. Cifuentes is out of contract in December, which could add an extra element to a possible move to Glasgow.

This deal will get done
The Rangers boss and his transfer team have shown this summer that if they want to do a deal for a new player, they will do it. The report suggests that they are confident the deal will be completed this summer, despite delays.
Cifuentes would become Rangers’ seventh summer signing, joining a whole host of incomers at Ibrox as Beale looks to shape his squad into his image, and the club prepare to challenge Celtic for their SPFL title this season.

The Ecuadorian midfielder would add a different dimension to this Rangers side, as he sits in the top 90% compared to other midfielders in the MLS for progressive passes, progressive carries, successful take-ons, touches in the attacking penalty area, shot-creating actions, and total shots.
These stats prove his quality, with attacking midfielders currently lacking in this Gers squad, and he certainly has all the tools to be an attacking force in that midfield.
In other Rangers news, the club continue to show they have learned from previous transfer mistakes.
