Rangers transfer news: Key update emerges on LAFC midfielder Jose Cifuentes

Rangers are reportedly close to completing the deal to secure the services of Los Angeles FC midfielder Jose Cifuentes this summer.

According to Mercado Futbol EC on Twitter, the move from the United States to Glasgow will be completed in the next few hours.

This news was then retweeted by one of the club’s media partners Heart and Hand’s podcasters @adamski152.

They wrote, “In the next few hours the transfer of José Cifuentes to Rangers of Scotland from current club LAFC
of the United States 🇺🇸 would be defined.”

Gers have already announced Cyriel Dessers recently and Cifuentes appears to be next in line.

Get it done

The Cifuentes transfer saga has dragged on for far too long this summer and it’s not indicative of how the rest of the activity has been.

Gers have been surprisingly efficient and have finished most of their transfer activity before pre-season even began, which is impressive.

Michael Beale has been backed with most of the players he wanted to sign this summer and there can be no complaints for not delivering.

The changes behind the scenes at Ibrox have certainly helped in getting the deals over the line as it’s become a better operation.

Senior figures from the past have quit and their archaic methods of running things have also gone so that can only be seen as good news.

Hopefully, the Cifuentes deal now gets done without any hindrances as there’s still some work left to be done.

In other Rangers news, the club have now received a breakthrough in their pursuit to complete another summer signing as a key target will not be signing an extension.
