Rangers exit route emerges for Glen Kamara amid Jose Cifuentes mystery
A Rangers exit route has emerged for Glen Kamara, with Turkish club Besiktas making an approach to sign the midfielder on loan, according to the Daily Record.
The newspaper noted that Kamara seems “certain” to leave Ibrox this summer after falling out of favour under Michael Beale.
The Daily Record added that his lack of future comes amid the proposed move of Los Angeles FC midfielder Jose Cifuentes to Ibrox.

“Rangers are set to offer forgotten midfielder Glen Kamara an escape route out of Ibrox as Jose Cifuentes returned to action for Los Angeles FC ahead of his proposed move to Glasgow,” according to the Daily Record (back page & page 50, 6 July). “Finn Kamara seems certain to leave Rangers this summer after falling out of manager Michael Beale’s plans.
“Now reports in Turkey have indicated Besiktas will make an approach to sign the 27-year-old on loan rather than make a bid for Kamara. Boss Senol Gunes wants to see if Rangers can be persuaded to let him take Kamara on loan, with the player still having two years left on his contract.
“It unfolds as Ecuadorian midfielder Cifuentes came off the bench at half-time in his side’s MLS derby loss to LA Galaxy. The 24-year-old is in the final six months of his deal with the Americans but was mysteriously left out last weekend.”

Kamara exit likely
Kamara was once a key figure at Ibrox, with the Finland international a regular name on the team sheet for the Gers in recent years.
His minutes on the pitch have, however, dried up under Beale, a situation that is only going to be made worse given the constant stream of new arrivals at the Scottish club.
Fellow midfielder Kieran Dowell has already arrived from Norwich City, while a deal for Los Angeles star Cifuentes looks close.
Kamara will not be happy to play a bit-part role under Beale next season, with the player’s lack of minutes at club level already impacting his international career as he was recently forced to watch on from the bench in a Euro 2024 qualifier against Slovenia.
Whether the Finland international leaves Ibrox temporarily or permanently this summer remains to be seen, but it seems likely either way that he will not be playing his football at Ibrox next season.
