Newcastle and Manchester City target Divine Mukasa set to make Rangers decision after Ibrox visit

Divine Mukasa, who recently left West Ham, visited Rangers and Newcastle this week and is also being linked with a move to Manchester City.

According to the Secret Scout, the 15-year-old is now set to make a decision over his future as he’s now a free agent.

The move will be official soon with three clubs keen on securing the services of the attacking midfielder.

Secret Scout wrote on Twitter, “Understand Divine Mukasa has visited Rangers and Newcastle this week as he looks set to make a decision on his future after leaving West Ham. There were reports Man City were also monitoring the England u16 central midfielder. Official soon.”

Sign him

Rangers are likely to give him a quicker route to first team football than Manchester City or Newcastle.

Both clubs owned by countries in the Middle East prefer to splurge money on big names rather than develop talent via the academy.

Mukasa, an English wonderkid, will be looking for a club that can help him hone his skills and if he moves to Ibrox, he can be among the best in the under-18 age bracket.

Rangers

He’s already played a handful of games in the Premier League under-18 so that experience will see him be a standout performer for the Gers side.

It remains to be seen if his visit to the club was enough to convince him to join or if he fancies staying on in England.

Even if he eventually wants to move to the Premier League, he can polish his skills at Rangers and then leave for a six or seven-figure in a couple of years as players in the past have done.

In other Rangers news, the club have now received a breakthrough in their pursuit to complete another summer signing as a key target will not be signing an extension.
