Rangers transfer news: Michael Beale set for 100% budget boost with sales now on the cards after Cyriel Dessers arrival
Michael Beale will be receive any cash generated from Rangers departures this summer “ploughed back into” his transfer budget, according to the Daily Record.
With Cyriel Dessers expected to be announced imminently as the sixth signing of the transfer window it is set to be sales that comes into focus next, with Steven Gerrard’s arrival at Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia increasing interest in Ibrox players.
Beale wants to trim the size of his squad ahead of the new season [Daily Mail, 4 July], with Gerrard target Scott Wright one of four first-team players who are available to leave as a result.

And it has now emerged that anybody who does go is apparently going to fully benefit the manager over the rest of the window.
The Daily Record reports: “Beale is expected to confirm on Wednesday that Nigerian international Cyriel Dessers will become his sixth signing of the summer. Any cash he raises from sales will be ploughed back into his existing pot.”
Turnaround
If Beale is still planning to keep making moves this summer this arrangement would surely increase his intent to move players on in order to fund them.
There are a few names at Ibrox whose prospects have suffered with the arrivals so far, and some who were already peripheral under him.
It will require some of the mooted interested clubs to actually start putting bids on the table for sales to actually go through, with the likes of Glen Kamara, Ianis Hagi, and more worryingly James Tavernier now reported to have suitors.

But if they do go it looks like the manager will be re-armed to capture his final targets, or if an unplanned exit of somebody like the captain goes through Beale will at least benefit from the cash to find a replacement.
Given Rangers sold Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo for the best part of £30million to Ajax and Southampton respectively last season, only for some of the cash to disappear behind the scenes to service other club responsibilities the picture looks healthier this summer.
The manager has already picked up a number of encouraging deals, and if he can get money in for players he doesn’t have big plans for it should open doors for him before September, or in January.
In other Rangers news, a Hearts standout has been named as a possible proven option amid doubts over two Ibrox signings during this window.
