Rangers transfer news as Besiktas make Glen Kamara offer, exit on cards
Out-of-favour Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara is set to be offered a way out of Ibrox, with Turkish side Besiktas making a loan offer, according to Turkish outlet Fotospor.
Kamara is reportedly the subject of a loan bid from Turkish side Besiktas [Fotospor, 5 July], who will play in the Europa League next season, as the Finnish midfielder looks for a way out of Ibrox having fallen out of favour.
Last season, Kamara made 22 league appearances for Rangers but averaged just 47.1 minutes per game [Transfermarkt] with many of those appearances coming off the bench. He has started just one game since the club’s League Cup final loss against Celtic in February.
The midfielder was a favourite during Steven Gerrard’s time at the club and played a key part as they won the Scottish Premiership, making 33 league appearances for the club, averaging 78.3 minutes per game, as well as playing ten times in the Europa League.
The best outcome for all parties
It has become clear that Kamara is not in Michael Beale’s plans for the new season, and will certainly be allowed to move this summer, with interest from Besiktas a good option that would allow the midfielder to continue playing at a high level and in European competition.
Kamara is clearly a talented player, proven by his role in Gerrard’s side, but does not fit in Beale’s side as he prefers a different type of midfielder in his system to what Gerrard wanted.

The news of Jose Cifuentes’ likely arrival at Ibrox could be the move that finally pushes Kamara out of the club, as the Glasgow side add more midfield options to their squad, following the arrival of Kieran Dowell already this summer.
A move to Turkey would see Kamara follow in the footsteps of former Rangers teammate Ryan Kent, who recently spoke to the media following his arrival at Fenerbahce.
In other Rangers news, the club are on alert following Gerrard’s interest in key player.
