Rangers deal in place for Jose Cifuentes transfer already

Rangers now have a deal in place to sign Los Angeles FC midfielder Jose Cifuentes for this window, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper has reported in its print edition [04 July, pg 49] that although the deal is in place, a fee is not likely to be agreed upon until later in the window.

It could mean, though, that no other club is able to jump ahead of the Gers as they look to bring the Ecuador international to Ibrox this summer.

Once Dessers and Cifuentes are in the door, it is likely that Michael Beale will start to shift players out of the club with most of his business already done.

Ianis Hagi, Scott Wright and Glen Kamara have all been strongly linked with an exit, and it is no surprise given their limited impact since the manager arrived.

Changes.

Beale is not messing around, and it is possible that there could be 10 new signings once the window has slammed shut in a couple of months.

Thankfully, five moves have been done very quickly with Dessers and Cifuentes to take it to seven, with defensive reinforcements also wanted at Ibrox.

Cifuentes clearly wants the move to Glasgow, and the only thing making things difficult is the MLS season running at different times to European football, with his contract expiring in December.

With the likes of Scott Arfield moving on and Steven Davis not having much impact, the South American has the perfect chance to come in and cement his spot instantly.

Beale has made it no secret that he wanted big changes this summer, and they have already happened, and that is bound to be positive with pre-season just getting underway.

This is one to watch, as it feels as though we have been waiting for this move for months now.
