Rangers complete Cyriel Dessers transfer as fee emerges for deal to be sealed Tuesday – Fabrizio Romano
Rangers have “completed” the deal to sign Cyriel Dessers from Cremonese and it will be “sealed” on Tuesday (4 July), Fabrizio Romano reports.
The Nigerian international striker was one of Michael Beale’s key attacking targets for the summer window but as the Gers grew “increasingly unhappy” in the negotiations with the relegated Italian side it looked like he might not get him.
Those fears have proven to be unfounded as the 28-year-old is now set to be signing number six and join Sam Lammers and Abdallah Sima as attacking reinforcements, in a deal with a total of £5.59million, with £4.3m guaranteed.
Reporting via Twitter on Monday night (3 July) Romano wrote: “Rangers have completed Cyriel Dessers deal with Cremonese — it will be done and sealed on Tuesday.
“Understand Rangers will pay €5m fee plus €1.5m in add-ons.”

The Light Blues weren’t thought to have a huge transfer budget this summer amid numerous free agent departures and little in the way of saleable assets.
Nobody has left for a fee yet during this window, but on top of the deal for Lammers from Sampdoria that is thought to have cost just over £3m [Sky Sports, 16 June] the club have spent significantly on their attack.
With Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent gone, on top of a 21-goal scoring deficit to champions Celtic last season, that was pretty much compulsory.

But Beale looks to be getting what he wants this summer and the developments have to be very satisfactory for the fanbase so far too.
After a slew of free transfers this is now three attacking players coming in, and two for notable money, so if everything goes to plan on the training ground, and crucially if the recruits aren’t decimated by injuries for a second year running, the team is shaping up.
There could yet be more to come in a number of departments, and getting so much business done early leaves the manager in the right place to do deals as suits him for the rest of the summer rather than chasing options to fill gaps.
In other Rangers news, the seventh signing is already on the cards to follow Dessers throw the entrance at Ibrox.
