Chris Jack shares update on Rangers pursuit of Nottingham Forest defender Jonathan Panzo
Rangers are reportedly making strides towards sealing another major first-team signing post the deal for Cyriel Dessers.
According to Scotland Herald journalist Chris Jack [03 July], they are “positively progressing” towards signing Nottingham Forest defender Jonathan Panzo.
He also reports that they are still interested in securing a deal for LAFC midfielder Jose Cifuentes this summer.

Get it done
Panzo appears to be Michael Beale’s chosen man so it makes sense to try and wrap this deal up as quickly as they possibly can.
His Forest career may not have kicked off as many would’ve wanted it to but that does not mean that he will not be a good fit for Rangers.
He’s capable of playing as a left centre-back, left-back as well as in midfield and can be an important utility player.

He can perhaps even usurp Ben Davies and look to make the left-sided centre half role his own at Ibrox in the coming months or years.
It remains to be seen how much it will cost Rangers but there appears to be optimism of getting this one over the line sooner rather than later.
Hopefully, the board does not let Beale down this summer and gives him his new signing as soon as possible so that he can start training with his new teammates.
In other Rangers news, the club have now received a breakthrough in their pursuit to complete another summer signing as a key target will not be signing an extension.
