Reliable source close to Rangers board shares update on Rabbi Matondo exit

A reliable source close to the Rangers board has confirmed the speculation surrounding Rabbi Matondo’s exit.

The Fourth Official [1 July] relayed what the source said and claims that the Wales international will be allowed to leave Ibrox this summer.

Michael Beale does not see the winger as part of his plans so an Ibrox exit could be on the cards for the 22-year-old.

Rangers

T4O wrote on Patreon, “There is interest from several Championship clubs for several Rangers players.

“There was one MSM outlet which reported that apart from the usual suspects, Rangers are willing to let go of Rabbi Matondo too.

“One very reliable source close to the Rangers board told me that it’s true. While he is a very talented player, unfortunately, he is not in the manager’s plans.”

Makes sense

Beale was previously criticised for not being ruthless enough and picking only his preferred players but this signals a change of that ideology.

He is prepared to cut the dead weight out from the club in order to make this a side that can win trophies and get back to their best.

Rangers

The Gers board messed up by not building on the invincible side of Steven Gerrard and they cannot do the same thing with Beale.

Abdallah Sima has been signed and he can play on either flank and the same can be said about Fashion Sakala as well so Matondo may be surplus to requirements.

A decent transfer fee can be expected as he’s still not in his prime and will only get better in the future so this is one worth keeping tabs on.

In other Rangers news, the club have now received a breakthrough in their pursuit to complete another summer signing as a key target will not be signing an extension.
