Rangers transfer news as wanted list emerges for after Cyriel Dessers transfer

Four names have been listed as potential Rangers targets after the club complete a deal for Cyriel Dessers and look to do further business this summer, in a report from Football Scotland.

Football Scotland has listed four players Rangers could look to sign after completing five deals already this summer, with Dessers set to join as the sixth.

Two more strikers in Bordeaux’s Josh Maja and Feyenoord’s Danilo have been named as the club target more firepower, LAFC midfielder Jose Cifuentes looks set to join the club, and Nottingham Forest defender Jonathan Panzo rounds off the list.

Rangers are targeting new additions to the squad as Michael Beale looks to mould his Rangers team the way he wants it, largely targeting forwards to replace the departed Alfredo Morelos, with more forwards possibly leaving.

Rangers having a busy summer

With six deals confirmed, and two more set to be finalised in the coming days, Rangers are still on the hunt for more talent as they attempt to build strength in depth ahead of a season challenging on all fronts, both domestically and in the Champions League.

Forest defender Panzo is an interesting option, with his versatility and ability to play either centre-back or left-back a valuable asset. The defender spent last season on loan at Coventry where he helped the midlands club reach the playoff final before being defeated by Luton Town.

Maja, meanwhile, is the subject of speculation after the Bordeaux owner admitted he has held discussions over a summer move. Gers were linked with the former Sunderland man as recently as April, with new links emerging again now.

Rangers’ pursuit of Danilo has been widely documented, with a report in the Daily Record [July 1, page 55] revealing the Glasgow side had made a “cheeky” offer which fell well under Feyenoord’s valuation.
