Rangers transfer news as Michael Beale not bothered about players exits at Ibrox

Rangers will sell anybody if the price is right, with Michael Beale looking to generate funds to bring in his own players, with the manager ‘not bothered’ about who leaves, according to the Daily Record journalist Scott Burns [page 52, July 1].

Burns has stated that he doesn’t believe Beale will be bothered about which players leave, as long as the price is right, as he looks to raise funds to bring his own players through the door at Ibrox.

It is suggested that Rangers will welcome bids for forward Antonio Colak, as the club continue to target reinforcements up front. This news comes following reports the club have agreed on a fee to bring Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers to the club.

“Hit and miss” attackers Rabbi Matondo and Fashion Sakala have also been mentioned as names who could be allowed to leave Glasgow as part of the squad overhaul this summer.

Beale should be trusted

The Rangers manager has earned the right to be trusted in the transfer market, with his ability to attract players being hailed during his time at QPR, so if he feels players should be sold with those funds spent elsewhere, the club should back his decision.

Rangers have shown they can be ambitious with transfers already this summer, having signed five players before pre-season has even begun, and with a sixth expected to arrive in due course.

This has, however, left the Glasgow side with a squad that needs trimming. There are currently 12 forwards at the club, with new attackers the main transfer targets, so suggestions in the Daily Record for these players to be moved on are entirely fair.

If Beale is allowed to shape the squad the way he wants it, it will give Rangers the best chance at reclaiming the SPFL title in the coming season.
