Cyriel Dessers makes it clear he wants to join Rangers after transfer news

Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers has made it clear that he now wants to join Rangers this week, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper has reported in its print edition [01 July, pg 55 and back page] that the Nigerian has made his feelings known after a bid was finally accepted in the last 24 hours.

A deal is said to be on the brink now with Dessers in line to join up with the pre-season camp in Germany next week ahead of the Scottish Premiership starting.

Dessers is now set for personal talks with the club ahead of completing his Ibrox medical and finalising the long-awaited switch to Govan.

Names such as Danilo and Benie Traore have also been mentioned in the past week, but it has always been the African forward who was the number one target.

Rangers

Perfect.

This has dragged on for a while now, but it looks to finally be coming to a positive resolution.

We have always said that we only want players who are desperate to play for the Bears to join the club, and Dessers looks to have made that very clear.

The striker found the net with ease at Feyenoord, even topping the scoring charts of the 21/22 Europa Conference League before his move to Serie A.

With power, strength, pace and finishing, this is someone who Michael Beale will want to come in and spearhead his attack every single week, hopefully scoring 20-plus goals a season.

Alfredo Morelos is a thing of the past, and his exit followed by Dessers’ arrival will likely kickstart even more sales at Ibrox with the likes of Antonio Colak now on the chopping block.

Change is still coming at Auchenhowie.

In other Rangers news, a £4.5million deal is now being wrapped up for Beale this week
