Rangers set seal £4.5m Cyriel Dessers transfer, he will join squad next week
Cyriel Dessers is expected to join up with Rangers’ pre-season camp in Germany next week, according to Mail+.
The Guardian’s Fabrizio Romano reported on Friday 30 June that the Gers had finally agreed a fee with Cremonese after weeks of talks.
Mail+ now report (30 June) that the Gers are set to “clinch” a £4.5million deal for the 28-year-old Nigerian forward.

It’s believed the soon-to-be Serie B side were looking to land as much of the £7million they paid for Dessers in the 2022 summer window.
Finally
Finally, the board and Michael Beale are closing in on one of their prime summer targets. Dessers’ move to Ibrox has been in the offing for a number of months and it appears a deal has finally been struck.
£4.5million seems like a fair price for the 28-year-old. He’s in the prime of his career and fits the profile of what Beale is after.
The Rangers boss clearly wants a physical presence to lead the line ahead of the 2022/23 season. Feyenoord striker Danilo was also on the Gers’ agenda, however, that deal will probably be shelved.

Moving forward, defensive additions will now take centre stage. Connor Goldson and John Souttar formed a decent partnership towards the end of the 2022/23 season but competition and depth will be required. It will be good for Dessers to get joined up with the squad as soon as possible.
One bonus of Beale’s early business is that the majority of the squad will be together for when pre-season preparations get underway next week.
