Rangers set for ‘crucial’ Germany training camp as pre-season details emerge – Chris Jack
Michael Beale and his Rangers side are set to start pre-season this morning (30 June) before heading off for a training camp in Germany which will be closed off to the press and public, according to Chris Jack.
The English manager is set to have a tough job on his hands in pre-season as he looks to integrate the five new signings he has captured in the summer transfer window as well as dealing with notable big-name departures.
Writing for Herald Scotland, Jack shared that Beale returned to his desk at Auchenhowie on Wednesday (28 June) and that despite the majority of his squad joining on Friday, some of his players who had international commitments would be given extra time off.

He added: “After going through the initial fitness tests and measurements in the first days back, Beale will take his squad to Germany for a training camp.
“Their base, around 90 minutes or so from Leipzig, will be closed to the public and the Press as the manager embarks on a crucial week of work in physical, technical and tactical aspects.
“The visit of Newcastle United on July 18 will be their first outing in front of supporters as Ibrox pays tribute to McGregor in his testimonial match. Hamburg provide the opposition a couple of days later, while a trip to Hoffenheim the following Saturday will be a sound test for Beale’s new look side.”

Back to work
If Rangers are going to claw back at Celtic next season and mount a serious title challenge, assimilating their new signings during pre-season is going to be key.
The Hoops look like an extremely settled squad right now, while Beale’s outfit are going through a summer of change at Ibrox.
Although this overhaul has needed for a couple of seasons and should help the Gers in the long run, it could leave them vulnerable at the beginning of the 2023/24 campaign.
Rangers can’t afford a sloppy start to the Scottish Premiership due to their major revamp of players and must use their time in Germany to get their new players used to the Beale style of play.
Luckily for the English manager, the Rangers board have pulled out their fingers and already got the majority of the club’s transfer business done before the start of pre-season.
Hopefully, Rangers will reap the rewards of this organisation next season.
In other Rangers news, the club have now received a breakthrough in their pursuit to complete another summer signing as a key target will not be signing an extension.
