Rangers agree fee for Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers, documents being drafted – Fabrizio Romano
Rangers and Cremonese have agreed a fee for striker Cyriel Dessers and are closing in on another new signing, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Michael Beale has been keen to add to his attacking options this summer after losing Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent, and Dessers was seen as one of the prime targets after the arrivals of Sam Lammers and Abdallah Sima.
Now the clubs have agreed on a fee and documents are being drafted before the deal is completed according to the super reliable Romano (30 June).
“Understand Rangers are closing in on deal for Cyriel Dessers,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account.
“Agreement now imminent with Cremonese for Nigerian striker – here we go soon.
“Clubs have agreed on final fee and all documents are being drafted.”
Finally
There have been question marks about whether or not this deal would get done because of the distance between the parties on a fee, but it’s finally done.
Dessers will join up and bolster the attacking department, something Beale has deemed as essential for the new season and the squad looks far stronger now than it did last season.

It raises questions about the immediate future of Antonio Colak and Kemar Roofe, but the boss has made it clear that he needed reinforcements and the board have delivered for him.
Six signings before pre-season even takes place is an ideal start to the new season and with so much happening over the road at Celtic too, it’s a huge boost.
It’s likely that this deal will bring to an end the move for Feyenoord striker Danilo for now as he was just a back-up, but Beale got his main target and Rangers are firing towards the new season.
