Key dates confirmed as Scottish Premiership fixture list announced
Rangers will face a trip to Kilmarnock on the opening day of the season, while Celtic visit Ibrox on the 3rd of September, with the away fixture scheduled for 30 December after the fixture list was revealed on Friday morning.
It could be a happy new year for Rangers fans, with the fixture list revealing Gers face a trip to their Old Firm rivals on the 30 December, while the first Old Firm clash comes early on at Ibrox, on the 3 September.
An opening day visit to Kilmarnock will be seen as a good opportunity to get the season up and running with a win, after Gers defeated their opponents all three times they faced each other last season, by 2-0, 3-2, and 3-1 score-lines. Starting the season off well will be a statement of intent as they look to reclaim the SPFL title.

The final match before the division is split comes between Michael Beale’s side and Ross County, who were very nearly relegated last season but stayed up via a 3-1 turnaround and 5-4 penalty victory over Partick Thistle in the relegation playoff, to save their SPFL status for another season.
The opening game will take place live on Sky Sports, which will then be followed by Rangers’ entry into the Champions League third qualifying round in the first leg, with their opponents yet to be revealed.

The winter break will return this season on the 3rd of January, and end on the 19th, while the club may well still be busy looking for transfer deals if opportunities should arise mid-way through the season.
There is no boxing day fixture at Ibrox this year, as Rangers face a visit to Motherwell on the 23rd of December, followed by a visit from Ross County on the 27th.
In other Rangers news, Ryan Kent has bid an emotional farewell to the club.
