Rangers must make another push to secure £7m Feyenoord striker Danilo as transfer news emerges
Rangers remain in talks with Feyenoord to sign Brazilian hitman Danilo after seeing a bid rejected but the Gers must make another push for his talented services.
The Gers are desperately on the prowl for a forward this summer, following the departure of Alfredo Morelos on a free contract with his contract running out on 30 June.
While Rangers have been proactive in filling the void, completing the signing of Atalanta forward Sam Lammers, Beale is still hoping to further add to his firepower and has been linked with Cyriel Dessers, Benie Traore and Danilo, after seeing a £3.5m bid rejected for the latter [Scottish Sun, 27 June].

According to Glasgow World [29 June], the Gers remain in talks with Feyenoord for Danilo’s services after a report emerged in the Scottish Sun [28 June] that the Dutch Eredivisie giants wanted a fee of around £7m.
Indeed, Rangers’ top priority this summer must be adding to their goalscoring firepower following the departure of Morelos, and there have been several names linked with the club already showing that Michael Beale means business this summer.
The signing of Lammers represents smart and sensible business by the Light Blues, but they would be foolish not to add to that with the signing of another striker – one possessing the capabilities to score goals at a consistent rate.
The Gers still have Antonio Colak on the books but there are doubts about his capabilities in firing Rangers past Celtic next season, and there’s the likelihood that he won’t be a Rangers player when the season kicks off again in August.

Rangers have been targeting some promising names in Dessers and Traore but are they the kind of solutions to fire the Gers to the Scottish Premiership gong next season? Arguably not.
Strikers like Danilo and Maja represent smart businesses, given the duo’s previous records and the Brazilian especially could well turn out to be the ideal and perfect Morelos replacement in the long haul.
Danilo impressed for the Dutch side last season, having been hailed as their “best finisher” by former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag during his days in Amsterdam, netting ten league goals last term, the second-highest amount in the squad.
The Sao Paolo-born forward’s qualities in the attacking sense do not stop there after recording three assists, averaging 0.2 assists per 90 in the past year, placing him in the 87th percentile, when compared to his positional peers in Europe’s top-eight leagues.

The Brazilian is also tremendously creative and efficient out of possession, as evidenced by his ranking in the top 18% of forwards across the continent for shot-creating actions per 90, and ranking in the 97th percentile for interceptions highlighting that he isn’t only influential when scoring and creating but also defending from the front – characteristics Beale absolutely adores from his front men.
Danilo certainly deserves a swift upward trajectory in his career and he is certainly the type of striker capable of firing Beale’s men to the league title next season.
In other Rangers news, the Bears are confident of another new transfer with talks already open
